What do you do when the loved one is given back to you?

May 1

What do you do when the loved one is given back to you? You give thanks, you live in gratitude and you like in the moment and you celebrate.

This is where we are today. Bina looks and feels good. She ate normal food ( soft khichdi, vegetables and biscuits) and best of all she sat by herself for 30 minutes.  She sat there grinning and swinging her feet, just like a little kid

Does this mean the cancer is gone? We do not know, we hope it has but we know it is still there lurking in the bones, in the lungs and so knows where. But, the Chemo is working and Bina is feeling better...we will take this and learn to take every moment with gratitude and love.

Anupam left and has started his long journey back home. To support Bina Mousi, me and family he travelled for over 24 hours to be here for 48 hours. He also left  an eight weeks old behind to encourage and cheer Bina up. And it worked.
Bina Mousi had made a pillow for him when he was born. That pillow has travelled all around the world ( several times) and was Anupam's constant companion. He shared the pillow with  her and told her how much she means to him and his family.

We did a long relaxed walk in the morning. The beach was buzzing with people jogging, playing basket ball, doing yoga and walking the fancy dogs. Hundreds of birds were feasting on the food left over and thrown away by last night's party goers.

Hospital stay was quiet and happy. I combed Bina's  hair and realized how long and pretty her hair still is ( I had completely forgotten). The long hair may not be hers for long but I am learning to live in the moment ...

Shalini andI had excellent coffee in the hospital cafeteria. For a hospital food, i highly recommend this tiny little cafeteria.

Shalini and I tried Uber ( our first of many adventures to come). Sonu had called it and told him where to go. Uber is convenient but not fool proof in India :) He brought us near our home but not quite. Luckily, we have been on this road few times by now so between Shalini and I, we managed to get right in front of our home with no problem.

Dropped off Anupam at the fancy Mumbai airport, ate home made Dosa and ended the day racing cars with Ansh and convincing him to take me along to his many trips around the world :)

A good and grateful day in all regards.....
