Today is a new day and all is well. I feel like we are in a small boat in the middle of an ocean. The boat is going up and down with the swells and we are telling ourselves that the general direction of the boat is towards the shore and we will get there as long as we all navigate it together in the same direction and stay calm.
We were totally surprised when these two young man walked in unannounced. Bina had no idea that they will be coming and I found out few minutes before they showed up. You should have seen the happiness on Bina's face. Aman and Montu are my eldest brother's sons. They came to see Bina from Indore. Bina ( and all of us siblings) were in our teens when Aman, Montu and their sister were born. We practically raised them as our kids ( or more likely as toys with our sister in law's and mother's supervision). We are all very fond of them..
Aman is a radiologist and the head of the dept at the medical college in Indore. He looked at the test results and basically said, " She needs to be in ICU, her ECG looks bad". Our other nephew's ( who is also a doctor) opinion was the same too. We told them how happy she is at home and how she hated the ICU..long story short, they agreed with Dr. Gokhale( who is the main cardiologist and the God of all heart related matters) that we should do ECCO Cardio and some blood test ( i forgot the name) and then decide. Trying to find a lab that is not too far and will be willing to do it within next few hours was a test of resilience, cooperation and resource-fullness. We were all on cell phones ,Google search and so on till we found a hospital which will do both the tests if we get there before 8pm. We piled up in two cars, took Bina on the wheel chair along with oxygen cylinder and drove through the traffic to the hospital. Having Aman ( the doctor nephew) with us was just what we needed, he walked in straight in the ECCO room, got the Sonogram done, looked at the results and said , " it is all clean"...what a relief. Even the Bollywood movies could not have come up with such a dramatical story. Interesting side note is that the machine that does the ECCO Cardio is same machine that is used in Ultra sound. Ultra sound is banned in India ( except for certified hospitals) because it can be used to determine the sex of unborn fetus and hence aborting the girl fetuses. ( That's' why we were having so much problem finding someone to do it..)
The tests are done , results shown to Dr. Gokhale and his comments were, " no serious problem, go ahead with Chemo". Once again, we managed to avoid a major storm. It is almost like someone is watching, testing the limits and then offering a smooth sailing till the next storm comes.
So, for now all is well. Lesson learnt is that do not follow the doctors blindly, question everything , state your preference and yet in the end trust their expertise, knowledge and judgement. Turns out the heart irregularity is induced by Chemo drugs and are to be expected.
Much relieved. We sat around and talked about politics, schools, Uber and general infrastructure. Private schools are amazing and full of resources, Uber and it's competitors ( Olla and others) are everywhere. They now have Uber Auto ( three wheelers) and even Uber bicycle ( no kidding). They also have something called "Grab it" ..which when you forget something at home, will go ,grab it for you.
Here is another one of those Hinglish posters for you. Try to understand it and see if you can figure out what are they advertising ( assuming you either know only English or Hindi but not Hinglish) . With this, I end another day...good night and do not let the mosquitos bite...( Ansh and I ran around and played this for half an hour..:)
