She came with a weary face, went back with a smile

Bina came home,  and Shalini is gone to her home: A big day for all of us. Bina Mousi is home. I wonder who should we thank for such a miraculous recovery? The Doctors, Family and Friends, Technology, Luck, Right time and Right decisions and the collective efforts of many or ..? What ever it is, we are very grateful for it. She is home and happy. Most of the tests are clear, she still needs weekly Chemo and Oxygen. She is in good spirits, alert and mobile ( also on her mobile phone :)

She is sharing the room with five beautiful Parakeets. Rhea ( her granddaughter) breeds and sells them. It is quite an operation and I am totally impressed by the creativity and responsibility of Rhea. She has an elaborate set up in the window ( so the birds feel they are outdoors, wild birds do visit sometimes). There is a place to nest and to incubate the eggs and take care of the babies..

After Bina Mousi settled down, we dropped Shalini at the airport to start her 32 hours journey back home. She and I were both nervous, she has never traveled alone and with a long stop over in Dubai and very long check in lines at the airport , she was little apprehensive.  Interesting part in all this is that she and I have traveled all over the world together and usually she is the one who finds the directions, keeps track of my stuff and makes sure I do not get locked in the bathroom. ( i did that ones at an Indian Airport). Anyways, she made it through all this and is in Dubai now.

I am glad that this has been a positive experience so far and regardless of what future holds, this trauma has brought the family together as well as made us individually stronger, more resourceful. I am very grateful for the support and journey so far and will keep you all updated as the life goes on.
